The reason I decided to write this post is a friend commented how I was updating my Facebook status so often.
As a new user of Twitter, I have to admit that I am getting a considerable amount of questions/criticism about why I use Twitter, some not as friendly as the above comment regarding Facebook.
Besides my new found addiction to social media and how it can be used effectively, it is just a cool application. I know worldwide that it is a pretty popular tool and is used as a marketing channel for a lot of switched on corporations. The market here in Australia still have not caught on to the same extent, social media marketing as a channel of communication is largely misunderstood.
“Just another social tool that is a waste of time” - My personal favorite!
I think a lot of people were saying the same thing about Facebook not so long ago. Now it is reported that Facebook is on its way to be worth more than the second largest search engine in the world, Yahoo! (source).
Of course I was happy to respond to my friend showing them my new toy, a Nokia E71 with the downloaded Twim app by Tommi Laukkanen of Substance of Code and how it linked together.
But my point is this, the question was raised by activity on another social network. Integration is a powerful tool when you are a marketer and you will save a massive amount of time and money.
Here are some articles I found regarding some pretty fantastic things that have happened to people using Twitter and what you can use Twitter for:
Do you have any success stories to add to Twitter moments or how you use Twitter to improve a situation?

Some very interesting Twitter moments in those articles. It really is amazing the power of social media and how you can use Twitter with other applications like Facebook.
Hi Susan, social media really is amazing, but not a new channel of marketing. It is just becoming more understandable and practical for the general non-tech internet users.
When you integrate your social media applications like Facebook and Twitter be careful. If your audience from the two different social networks are connected to you for different information you may upset them with non-relevant messages.
