The Ultimate Business Card & What You Can Learn From It
When I first watched this video I was amazed by this guys passion for his business card and his hair cut, I think Vanilla Ice would be proud. However, when you get passed his hair there is something we can all learn from his business card. Take a look at the video.
Ok, so what did you think? He is obviously one super excited guy about his ultimate business card, but he has one problem.
The size of his ultimate business card, it is considerable larger than a standard business card and this will produce a major problem! Who will be able to carry it in their wallet, business card holder or card file? Not many people, if anyone! How does this relate to the web? This is perfect example of a massive usability issue for his target market.
Some usability points to consider for your target market and your next website design:
- Web Browser Compatibility – Does your site look at the same in Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome, Safari etc
- Web Page Loading Time – slow, fast or average
- Internet Speed Of Your Target Market – city based markets normally have faster connection speeds versus country based markets or mobile markets
- Website Dimensions – does your layout allow your website to be viewed on different size monitors?
- Find-ability Of Your Website – did you consider search engine optimisation when building your website
- Language – write for your target market, try to avoid industry jargon as much as possible
- Font – make sure all your font family will display correctly in your website layout.
