Must Have Outlook Add On

As a non user of Outlook Express, I am always surprised that people still use it! To me there are just so many features of Outlook that just don’t blow my skirt up! Not being internet based is my biggest chip but then there is also the usability, but I wont go on!

The one thing Outlook does do for me and should do for any marketer, is remind you that in every market there is a demographic that prefer one product over another. It may come from lack of product education, lack of alternative brand awareness or brand loyalty. But Let’s face it, in the internet world the demographic that like using Outlook are considered to be less tech savvy, or are they?

The new add on by Xobni integrates some very interesting third part applications into the user interface that are generally used by the more tech savvy/younger crowd, like Yahoo mail, Facebook and LinkedIn! (source BNET) The non tech savvy demographic don’t use these applications! Or do they?

With the line between online life and off line life continually being forced together by technology, social media (a social media marketing example), my question is,

“Are the non tech savvy crowd following Darwin’s Theory Of Evolution and evolving to their new environment?”

Could the addiction of Hillary Clinton to technology be a reflection of the new bread of tech savvy 50+ demographic?

How does this effect marketing, the demographic of your target market and what channel to use to connect with them?

Maybe your parents more tech savvy than you thought?

Finally! I need to use Outlook at work and it has been terrible, this add on might make it more user friendly.

Sam I hope this helps! You should lobby your workplace to make the move to Gmail and the ability to use the GTD application. Good Luck.
