Google Strikes Again!
Some time ago Google announced that they are able to index video posts. Of course this is another thumbs up to the great work that the Google geeks can achieve. This is also beneficial to all the site owners that already leading their markets that use video to hold the attention of visitors and add an extra element of uniqueness to push sales
But of course this instantly created a surge in embedding video in sites that contained large amounts of keyword stuffing.
One particular professional blogger happen to mention “search engine optimisation” and “SEO” approximately 57 times in a video post that doesn’t hit the 7 minute mark. The REALLY INTERESTING part is he talks about playing by the rules, being whitehat (ethical) etc! In fear of being considered spamming if we embedded the video in question we have provided the link for your viewing pleasure here.
Matt Cutts released this information from the Google Labs regarding video indexing and keyword stuffing:
Blackhat SEO techniques are the bane of our lives at Google and it has been brought to our attention that after year’s of work from the Google team our endeavors have to take a new twist. We recently started indexing Video posts and have been very concerned with the results from some authority figures using ‘Keyword stuffing’ and other subliminal techniques to hypnotize their visitors into action’s that they would not normally take like buying that blogger’s latest sensational ebook!
‘Google’s number one focus in 2009? and that every kind of new technology encompassing speech to text translation and interpretation will be utilized in the mission to overcome these ‘Unfair Practices’.
So if you have noticed that your site has lost some rankings of late to your competitors with video spam, don’t worry Google will strike again!
