Google + Social Media In Search Results

Google has announced that they will be adding social media into their search results, this will allow to see what your friends, and your friends friends from within your social networks think about a subject you just searched for in Google.

Marissa Mayer from Google had this to say about the subject:

We believe that our search results and user experience will greatly benefit from the inclusion of this up-to-the-minute data, and we look forward to having a product that showcases how tweets can make search better in the coming months. That way, the next time you search for something that can be aided by a real-time observation, say, snow conditions at your favorite ski resort, you’ll find tweets from other users who are there and sharing the latest and greatest information.

So how can you use this to your advantage? 5 quick tips:

• Use keywords in conversations or add keywords with hashtags in Twitter
• Talk about timely events
• Have a lot of followers
• Promote conversations
• Include calls to engagement
