Google Gives You The Power
Google have been testing this feature out for a while and now it is available to the general public.
What Is It?
You will notice when you do a search in the Google search engine you now have the ability to VOTE UP or VOTE DOWN results. This new voting system, similar to Digg and other social sites is called SearchWiki.
How does it work?
Advantages
- The first thing I thought of is I can remove Wikipedia from my search results! YAY!!!!
- You can personalise your search results, just like the video highlights.
Disadvantes
- This will push the new trend that search engine optimisation consultants need to take more of a PR/marketing approach to their art. Could it lead to whoever can create the highest level of brand awareness outside of the SEO world actually win inside the SEO world?
What do you think of the new feature to Google?

I appreciate Google trying to make the button for Search Wiki small, but they really do annoy me. They just take that clear appearance away from the results; something Google based their appearance on back at the very start.
@ Ian – Your right. Google did base their user interface on being clean, quick and user friendly. It is possible to add a script and remove it from your search results but I think everyone that doesn’t like should get used to it because it will be here to stay I think.
