Sony’s upcoming movie 2012 is promoting themselves in their marketing material to Google 2012, instead of the traditional, go to this URL. This is a fantastic idea if your search engine optimisation campaign is already in place and you are dominating the search results.

Why would they not spend a few extra dollars and pay a seo company to start building their search results while they filmed the movie. They could have launched at the same time.
Hi john, we agree. Integrating your marketing campaigns is essential, off line or online. You would hope that this was their angle or maybe they just could not afford the extra dollars for an seo company.I’m sure any search engine optimisation agency would have done it for free for a little publicity with the movie, we would have had our hands up for it.
